A 2009 article by Phaedra Haywood in The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that the County planners expect Santa Fe County's population to increase by 50,000 by 2030, with 28,000 of that number occurring within the city of Santa Fe. They predict that the fastest growing area outside the city limits will be to the south and west of the city. The County's current population is 150,000. It looks like a condo in Zia Vista is a good investment despite the current downturn in housing sales.
